You helped make Christmas a little brighter for many!
What a year it has been at the Princeton Heights Marketplace! It started a little rough after last year's holiday season - mainly because of the atrocious weather we had...
but we were able to keep the light's on, thanks to your commitment to our little South City shop. Only being open one weekend a month is definitely a different business model then most are used to, and we don't always hit the pic weekend of the month in regards to weather, but the idea seems to be catching on anyway. We have our "regulars" that never miss an Open Weekend, and nearly always find a treasure that makes them happy each time they come in. (Make sure you pick up our yearly calendars in store, so you can plan your shopping weekends!)
But only being open once a month, gives Janice and I time to curate some of the coolest treasures found in the St. Louis area, and at prices that we can pass on to you. Because the items are mostly repurposed, we make sure that the value matches what you pay and keeps you wanting to come back each month and find more treasures!
We have rotated lots of vendors in and out over the last 14 months, and it was no different as we moved into this holiday shopping season. We thought it would be fun to add a few more local artisans and consignors into the mix, giving them a chance to offer their wares to our once a month customers...perhaps getting their name out there to jumpstart their own dream business.
December was a great month for us, and allowed us to share a little sunshine with 25 consignors/vendors...our largest consignor payout ever! I am only sending a limited amount of Christmas cards this year (thank you Facebook for helping me hit several friends with one photo!); but what I am doing is sending out a little bit of Christmas happiness to 25 folks who share their items with us, allowing Janice to create a beautiful and fresh design in store each month.
As we move into January, we will say goodbye to a few, and welcome some new consignors to our mix...keeping it fresh, relevant and perhaps just what your decor needs.
Please help those vendors and Janice and I keep the lights on during our 2nd year in business, by coming out to visit each month, and sharing our little South City secret shop with others. We truly appreciate how you are not only helping our business be successful, but giving lots of others a chance to live their dream as well.
Merry Christmas and see you January 2nd!
Julie and Janice
P.S. We decided Friday's are not your favorite shopping day of the week, so we have eliminated that evening during our Open Weekends, but Thursdays are fun to Sip and Shop with friends!
